Take a step back in time and take a jaunting car tour through the Kerry Mountains through the Gap of Dunloe and board an open boat for a journey across the lakes of Kilarney.

The Gap of Dunloe & Killarney Lakes Day Tour by Train

  • You will depart Heuston Rail Station at 07:00 and travel southwest on the InterCity train to Killarney.

  • When you arrive in Killarney at 10:15 you will transfer to Ross Castle by coach. This is where the open boat tour begins on Lough Leane.

  • On this tour you will pass Innisfallen, Ross Island and under the Bricin Bridge and on towards the Meeting of the Waters at the old Weir Bridge.

  • You continue the tour along the Long Range towards Eagles Nest Mountain and onto the Upper Lake.

  • Stop off Lord Brendan's cottage for a light snack and refreshments (not included)

  • Travel by pony and trap through the Black Valley and Gap of Dunloe where you will finish up at Kate Kearneys cottage.

  • When you arrive at 'Kate's' Traditional Irish Pub you will receive great hospitality and then transfer from here at 16:15 to Killarney Railway Station, arriving at 16:35

  • The train for Dublin departs at 17:37 so there it a little bit of time to get flavour of Killarney town centre which is near the station.

  • The train will arrive back in Heuston at 21:00.

Train heading back to Dublin is at 17:37 and arrive back at Heuston at 21:00
